    Operation Principle<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The main component of the engine coolant fan switch (or thermoswitch) is the bimetallic disc. Formed by two metals with different thermal expansion coefficients, the bimetallic disk is calibrated to snap at a specific temperature. This deformation causes the pin displacement that closes the silver contacts. (ON\u2013OFF). (Fig.1<\/b>).
    Important: Some vehicle models use a Thermoswitch in conjunction with a temperature sender, MTE-THOMSON calls DUPLEX. This switch not only informs the temperature excess to the car panel (warning lamp or alarm) but also activates the gauge that informs the coolant temperature situatio.     When used to activate the fan, the\u00a0Thermoswitch<\/b>\u00a0will be located in the
    vehicle\u2019s radiator. When used to activate a warning lamp or alarm, it might
    be located near the thermostat or many other places in the engine.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    • Activate the fan when the coolant\u2019s temperature in the radiator exceeds the specified limit. This usually occurs with the vehicle operating in heavy traffic.<\/li>
    • Activate a warning, which can be either a warning lamp in the vehicle\u2019s instrument panel or a sound alarm.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

      • The coolant\u2019s temperature in the radiator increases so much that it boils, causing the engine\u2019s overheating, burning and deforming the cylinder\u2019s head gasket, damaging to hoses, leaking of coolant liquid, etc.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

          There is an indication of the activation temperature in all product codes.<\/p>

          • Switch of 01 (one) temperature with 01 terminal:\u00a0<\/b>MTE Number:\u00a03046.115<\/b>:\u00a0ON\u00a0at 115\u00b0C.<\/li>
          • Switch of 01 (one) temperature with 02 terminals:\u00a0<\/b>MTE Number:\u00a0705.92\/87<\/b>:\u00a0ON\u00a0at 92\u00b0C and\u00a0OFF\u00a0at 87\u00b0C.<\/li>
          • Switch of 02 (two) temperatures:\u00a0<\/b>MTE Number:\u00a0717.95-102<\/b>:\u00a0ON\u00a0at 95\u00b0C the fan first speed and\u00a0ON\u00a0at 102\u00b0C the fan second speed.

              • Always check the right temperature sensor for each vehicle model.<\/li>
              • Never perform maintenance repair while the cooling system is still hot. There is a high risk of burns.<\/li>
              • At any evidence of excessive temperature, park the vehicle in a safe place and turn off the engine immediately, otherwise, you may damage the engine.<\/li>
              • Check the coolant level weekly, with the cold engine.<\/li>
              • Always use the specified coolant and the correct rate for your vehicle.<\/li>
              • Do not fill the coolant reservoir only with plain water, because this will dilute the coolant concentration.<\/li>
              • Any reduction in the coolant level may indicate a leaking in the cooling system.<\/li>
              • Perform the preventive thermostats maintenance every 30.000 Km.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
